Britain’s famous poet, Pam Ayres is appearing at Swindon’s Wyvern Theatre on Sunday November 2 at 3.30pm for a one-off ‘Doggedly Onward’ charity show to raise funds for Hatherop Primary School’s Big Build campaign – a community initiative to improve the school buildings for children and families in and around the local area.
The school is aiming to raise £1.5m for much needed development work to create the bright modern spaces that the pupils deserve.
Local resident and performer, Pam Ayres, has spent a lifetime providing hilarious and profound insights into the delights and tribulations of everyday life, and she has gathered her career’s work of poetry into her latest book, ‘Doggedly Onward – A Life in Poems 1970-2020s’.
The book traces the course of Pam’s life and illustrates how her work has provoked laughter and a few tears in people all over the world.
Pam once famously said: “If people are fond of me, I am delighted! I hope I have given a lot of people a laugh, as that is a great experience – to laugh!”
Tickets at £40 are now on sale for Pam’s show at the Wyvern Theatre on Sunday November 2 at 3.30pm. There are a limited number of SuperSeats available at £100 for Front Stalls seats, which entitles the ticketholders to attend a post-concert Drinks & Canapés Reception to meet Pam Ayres.
