An independent board game café on Sidmouth Street is celebrating a successful first year as it enters its second, having quickly established itself as a thriving community space in Devizes.
Game Knights, founded by Jamie and Mary, has grown rapidly since opening and is now a regular meeting place for board game enthusiasts, tabletop role-players, and card game fans of all ages. Located at 11 Sidmouth Street, the venue offers a welcoming and relaxed environment where people can come together to play games face to face.
With a library of more than 300 board games available to play, Game Knights caters to both seasoned gamers and complete beginners. The café hosts a full calendar of weekly events, including Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, Lorcana, Dungeons & Dragons, and beginner-friendly board game nights designed to help newcomers feel at ease.
“Our aim was to create a friendly place where people could switch off, sit down together, and enjoy games face to face,” said Mary, co-founder of Game Knights. “We’ve been amazed at how quickly the community has grown.”
Regular customers say the venue has helped bring people together, offering a social alternative to screens and online gaming while supporting local, independent business on the high street.
As Game Knights enters its second year, the founders say they are excited to continue expanding events and welcoming new players into the community. More information about the café and its upcoming events can be found on the Game Knights website at www.game-knights.co.uk, with a full events listing available at www.game-knights.co.uk/events.
