BIL Group completes second acquisition in two years – EVO Supplies ‘The Skate People’ brand

Wiltshire-based BIL Group has acquired the EVO Supplies ‘The Skate People’ brand, marking another step in the strategic addition to BIL Group’s existing portfolio of material handling brands.

The UK’s leading manufacture of wooden furniture skates (also known as dollies), EVO Supplies was founded in 2013 when Juliet and Greg Dunn purchased a small removal supplies business on Mersea Island in Essex.

Calne-based BIL Group manufactures castors and wheels for a wide variety of industries and materials handling equipment used by delivery drivers and in warehousing operations. The company, which employs more than 60 staff, was acquired by PHD Industrial Holdings in 2022. This is the company’s second acquisition and follows the purchase of H Varley Ltd in March 2024.

Looking ahead, BIL Group remains focused on expanding its portfolio and capabilities. The company is actively pursuing further acquisition opportunities within the materials handling and castors and wheels sectors to strengthen its market position and deliver even greater value to its customers.

Tim Murrow, Managing Director of BIL Group, said: “The EVO acquisition is another pivotal milestone in the history of BIL Group and the next chapter of our growth story as we continue our commitment to UK Manufacturing. EVO’s skates and dollies are an attractive product range which also brings significant synergies in combination with castors and wheels. EVO is a well-established brand, with a strong reputation for its high quality in the UK market, and we are looking to build on existing and new customers and export this product further to a wider market.”

Juliet Dunn, Managing Director of EVO Supplies, said: “I am delighted that our EVO skates, and the brand we have built, have found such a good new home with BIL Group. The acquisition is an excellent fit. BIL’s manufacturing expertise, and commitment to quality and innovation, will allow them to take the EVO range forward in exciting ways. As I embark on retirement, I’m confident that I am leaving both our products and our customers in excellent hands.”
