Santa, stalls, and season’s greetings for Malmesbury’s Christmas shopping night

A record number of stallholders have applied to set up at this year’s Malmesbury late-night shopping, which looks set to be bigger and better than ever.

The festive highlight will be held on Friday, December 5th, from 6pm to 9pm, and will be officially opened by Malmesbury Mayor Cllr Stephen James.

Stalls will be lining the streets and once again extending up the High Street and along Oxford Street and organisers are hoping for good weather after last year’s event had to be relocated to the Town Hall.
For the children, Cross Hayes car park will feature plenty of attractions, including Santa’s Grotto. Shoppers can also enjoy entertainment provided by local choirs, as well as lots of tasty food stalls, all designed to get people into the Christmas spirit.

The annual event, which draws hundreds of local residents and visitors to Malmesbury, is organised by the Malmesbury Town Council and the local business group, Malmesbury Town Team.

“Our team of organisers and volunteers are working hard to make sure this annual event is bigger and better than ever, and we are keeping our fingers crossed for good weather,” said Cllr James. “I’m looking forward to seeing local people and visitors enjoying our town under the festive lights, and the children being excited to see Santa. The whole event is a great start to the Christmas period.”
