It has now been confirmed that the first ‘You Me and Umami’ restaurant and take-away service will be opening at the old Red Lion pub, Lechlade.
Foyez Rahman, also behind Sasa’s Indian Kitchen and Bar in Crudwell, will open the first Pan-Asian concept in early December in the old High Street building that dates back to 1881.
Foyez said: “Since we announced our plans and started looking for local staff, Lechlade has been extremely supportive and welcoming.
“This is the food I have come to love in the UK and on my travels, and I think Lechlade and the surrounding area will really like it. We have Korean, Japanese and Malay influenced dishes that we hope you will enjoy as much as we do. We use the best ingredients – fish, shellfish, meat and vegetables, sourced locally, when possible. We are extremely excited to be coming to Lechlade and to such an historic building.”
The restaurant is due to open in early December with a Gala Evening for local businesses and the public.
