New trustee joins Trowbridge Future charity as Treasurer

Banner Financial Controller appointed to Board of Trustees

Trowbridge Future is welcoming Rob James, Financial Controller from local firm Banner, a leading school and sportswear provider, to its Board of Trustees.

Rob is a qualified accountant and has worked in a range of industries for over 20 years, now overseeing accounting operations at Banner and compliance with financial regulation.

“I’ve lived in Trowbridge all my life and I’m really thrilled to get involved with a local, home grown organization with a strong community focus, and such a dedicated team of staff and volunteers,” said Rob.

Banner has supported the charity over the past year by donating branded uniform for its staff and volunteers, and giving Christmas hampers full of festive treats to over 80 users of the charity’s three Community Fridges at Longfield, Seymour and Studley Green.

“I’m delighted to welcome Rob to our Board of trustees,” said Chair of Trustees Jo Trigg. “His financial skills, local knowledge and passionate commitment will all be very valuable assets to Trowbridge Future. He joins a team of dedicated and talented professionals committed to delivering significant support to our communities.

“Our staff team has been nothing short of amazing during the two years of the pandemic. Funding from the National Lottery has enabled us to expand our community services and strengthen our work with local organisations, at a time when many charities have been forced to reduce their services. We are looking forward to building a robust and sustainable future that meets the needs of the community.”

The charity is governed by 11 trustees. David Whewell, former Head of Young People’s Services at Wiltshire Council and current Chair of Governors of the John of Gaunt School; and Georgina Brown, equality, diversity and inclusion specialist, joined the board of trustees last year.
