Local mother and daughter business owners, Liz and Izzy Graney, have been announced as finalists in the Business Success Recognition Awards 2025 categories of Against All Odds and Rising Star of the Year 2025. Liz has been juggling serious health challenges for nearly 20 years now and was made redundant when the business she worked for collapsed in 2023. While Izzy has grown up supporting her mother’s and her father’s businesses and now has her own motorsports and automotive photography business!
Liz says, “This is the second year in a row that we have been selected to be finalists at the awards. As a mother and daughter team, both with our own businesses, it has its challenges, but we are really proud to stand side by side as others independently recognise our businesses and day-to-day efforts through personal and professional successes and challenges!”
Why Did They Get Selected As Finalists?
Liz set up Escape the Village in October 2023 when she was made redundant and offers rural businesses a range of marketing services and support. She supports a range of exciting small, local businesses, including a falconer and a country show. She also makes it a goal to support veterans, other disabled business owners and struggling charities. Liz uses her experience to shine the spotlight on rural businesses that may not always be easily discovered like a high street name.
While Izzy, only just 18, only set up her business, iJAG Photography services, at the end of last year and does automotive and motorsport photography across the country. Izzy has also had her own serious health challenges over the last few years and after discovering she had a heart condition her initial goal of joining the RAF was shattered. However, she has taken those challenges and is now making an impact in the male dominated world of motorsport and automotive photography!
What Are The Business Success Recognition Awards?
Stacey Calder established the Business Success Recognition Awards, to celebrate the fantastic work being done by businesses and individuals within the UK business community. These recognition awards are open to all organisations nationwide, regardless of size or maturity. The Business Success team independently judged over 500 entries and shortlisted the finalists, and a team of expert judges will select the winners for each award.
There is a wide range of award categories which will be recognised and celebrated during an evening of entertainment and surprises. The winners will be announced at the Recognition Awards ceremony on Saturday, 13th September 2024, at the Crowne Plaza, Stratford Upon Avon. For those not in the room, you can follow the event using the following hashtag #BSNAwards2025
Founder, Stacey Calder said: “Having read all the nominations that have come in, it always amazes me what a diverse range of businesses we have in the UK. It makes me incredibly proud to be able to give a platform for small businesses to not only recognise their achievements, but to give them a way to raise their profile and showcase what they do. Visibility is key to a business at any time, but right now it’s vital. Our awards are back for the fourth year, and you can always feel the support in the room, with businesses supporting other businesses. This year has seen continued challenges for businesses, so we want to recognise that the hard work continues and deserves to be recognised.”
