Kia Presents the New EV9 at Chippenham Motor Company

Local car dealer, Chippenham Motor Company was buzzing with excitement on November 1st as Kia unveiled their latest innovation in electric mobility; a fully electric seven seat SUV; The Kia EV9.

The hotly anticipated seven-seat electric SUV made its way to Bumpers Farm in Chippenham, accompanied by performance car of the year, the Kia EV6 GT. The event was a resounding success, with two fully booked sessions.

During the event, attendees were treated to an exclusive unveiling show, offering a first glimpse of the Kia EV9, as well as an in-depth presentation on the electric SUV, shedding light on its cutting-edge features and capabilities. Attendees had the unique opportunity to explore the vehicles up close, getting a firsthand look at the advanced technology and design that set them apart.

The Kia electric experts were on hand to answer questions and provide insights into Kia’s electrified range as well as plans for the future.

The EV9 is a seven-seat electric SUV available in three grades, ‘Air’, ‘GT-Line’ and ‘GT-Line S’, a six-seat variant is also exclusively available for the range topping ‘GT-Line S’ grade. EV9 pre-orders are open now with prices starting from £64,995.

The EV9 is powered by either a single motor rear-wheel drive setup for the ‘Air’, or a dual motor all-wheel drive powertrain on the ‘GT-Line’ and ‘GT-Line S’. Every grade of EV9 is equipped with a large 99.8kWh fourth-generation lithium-ion battery. Range for the rear-wheel drive EV9 ‘Air’ is rated as up to 336 miles (WLTP combined), while the all-wheel drive EV9 ‘GT-Line’ and EV9 ‘GT-Line S’ variants offer up to 308 miles range per charge. Based on Kia’s ground-breaking E-GMP platform, every EV9 is capable of 800V charging which can deliver 10-80 per cent charge in 24 minutes at the fastest 350kW ultra-fast charge points.

To accompany the new Kia EV9 and the popular Kia EV6, Kia plans to launch seven more fully electric models in the UK by 2027 and all will be available from Chippenham Motor Company.
