Frasers Plus Designer Outlet Swindon launches ‘Package for Milly’ initiative to support access to essential menstrual products

Frasers Plus Designer Outlet Swindon has launched the ‘Package for Milly’ initiative, marking a significant step forward in widening access to essential menstrual products in Swindon. The addition sees the outlets join a growing number of UK retail destinations championing action against period poverty.

Originally launched by Jackson Square Shopping Centre in Bishop’s Stortford, the campaign has been introduced at centre’s across the UK to provide discreet and dignified access to period products, helping support local communities and remove the stigma surrounding period poverty.

From 1st June, visitors to the outlet will be able to ask a member of the outlet team for a “Package for Milly” and receive a free package containing essential sanitary products, no questions asked.

The initiative has been named in honour of women’s rights campaigner Millicent Fawcett and was created to support those facing financial hardship, as well as anyone unexpectedly caught short while visiting the outlet.

According to ActionAid UK, 10% of girls in the UK have been unable to afford menstrual products, while 15% have struggled to access them. The Package for Milly campaign aims to help address this growing issue while providing accessibility for all.

The products used within this are supplied through Hey Girls, a UK-based social enterprise focused on tackling period poverty through sustainable menstrual products.

Charlotte King, Marketing Manager at Frasers Plus Designer Outlet Swindon, said: “We’re proud to be launching Package for Milly at the outlet and joining a growing movement to help tackle period poverty within local communities. Access to essential sanitary products should never be a barrier for anyone, and we hope this provides reassurance, dignity and support to visitors who may need it while visiting the centre.”

Frasers Plus Designer Outlet Swindon joins a growing number of shopping destinations introducing the initiative as part of a wider commitment to accessibility, wellbeing and community support.
