Swindon-based creative agency, GEL Studios, is proud to unveil its latest initiative, the Advent with Purpose campaign.
The campaign aims to amplify the voices and efforts of organisations like Swindon Women’s Aid, Sounds Like Women, Wiltshire Community Foundation and Boyz-2-Men. These charities work tirelessly to support survivors, educate communities, and drive meaningful change in the local area.
Running from Monday, 2nd December to Tuesday, 24th December 2024, the campaign features daily social media posts that shine a light on domestic abuse through key insights, hard-hitting statistics, and resources provided by local charities.
The Advent with Purpose campaign highlights GEL Studios’ dedication to supporting its community. Motivated by the Inspiring Confident Allyship event held at The County Ground on Friday, November 22nd, Managing Director Graeme Leighfield and James Phipps felt compelled to take action.
The event brought together over 100 local leaders and business owners, all eager to deepen their understanding of the devastating impact of domestic abuse. Alarming statistics revealed that nearly 42,000 domestic abuse crimes or incidents were reported in Wiltshire over the past five years, involving victims as young as 1 year old and as old as 104. These numbers only account for reported cases, leaving countless others unrecorded. On a global scale, the situation is equally distressing – every 11 minutes, a woman or girl is killed by a family member.
This impactful symposium, hosted by the Wiltshire Community Foundation in recognition of White Ribbon Day, served as a call to action against domestic abuse. The event aimed to raise awareness, foster allyship, and inspire tangible change.
Speaking about the event, Graeme Leighfield, Managing Director & Founder of GEL Studios shared:
“The Inspiring Confident Allyship event served as a powerful reminder of the importance of strong allyship in addressing domestic abuse. We are dedicated to being part of the solution and utilising our resources to support those in need. We encourage everyone to become part of this movement and help foster a community free from abuse.”
The creative agency will donate £500 to Swindon Women’s Aid for every business that books a Branding and/or Messaging workshop with GEL Studios during December, further contributing to this vital cause and the wider community.
Here is what Swindon Women’s Aid Interim CEO, Kate Rowland, had to say about GEL Studios’ support:
“It’s great to see tangible actions coming from the recent Allyship event, and we’re very grateful to GEL Studios for including us in their programme. Creating awareness and elevating conversations about domestic abuse is critical to support SWA’s aim of a society without abuse.”
The team at GEL Studios invites clients, partners, and the community to engage with the campaign by following its daily posts throughout December on social media. By involving the local community GEL Studios hopes to amplify this message, ignite critical conversations, and inspire action for an important cause that affects millions of people all over the world.
