6 Ways to Celebrate the Festive Season at Basset Down

It’s starting to feel very Christmassy here – the decorations are up, the lights are twinkling and we’re gearing up for an exciting couple of weeks ahead.

From Festive Afternoon Teas, a round of disc golf, indulgent seasonal menus and gift ideas, there’s plenty to enjoy with friends, family, or colleagues. Whether you’re planning a festive meal out, looking for unique presents, or just want to get into the Christmas spirit, here’s 6 ways you can celebrate with us…

1. Christmas Cupcake Decorating Workshop

We’re delighted to be partnering with Emma’s Kitchen to host a festive Christmas Cupcake Decorating Workshop here at Basset Down on Wednesday 10th December, 18:00 – 19:30.

If you’re looking for a cosy, creative evening with friends, family, or simply some relaxing ‘you time’, this workshop is the perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit. Enjoy a fun, informal session where you’ll learn how to decorate your own box of six beautifully festive cupcakes.

To reserve your place, please call 01793 812336 (opt 4) or email events@basset-down.com. Spaces are limited, so early booking is recommended.

Treat yourself to a festive evening out and take home your delicious creations!

2. Festive Afternoon Tea

If you’re after something a little more relaxed, our Festive Afternoon Tea is available Thursday–Saturday until 3rd January.

For £27.50pp, enjoy festive sandwiches, homemade sausage rolls, sweet treats (yes, including mince pies!), freshly baked scones, and crackers too. Our restaurant is fully decked out for the season, with gorgeous views over the North Chalk Downs — perfect for unwinding.

3. Christmas Menus

Our festive menus are now being served daily for breakfast, lunch, and on Thursday–Saturday evenings from 24th November – 4th January (closed Christmas Day). Expect seasonal flavours, indulgent favourites, and a separate Winter Menu if you’re after something non-festive.

Got a larger group? Our private dining room is ideal for gatherings of 20+ and makes celebrations feel extra special.

Take a look at the menus and book a table when you’re ready.

4. Give the Gift of Basset Down

Looking for a thoughtful present? Our Gift Vouchers can be used for everything here — afternoon tea, the restaurant, golf, footgolf, disc golf, the driving range… you name it.

Pick one up at reception, or give us a call and we’ll pop it in the post.

5. Try Something New: Disc Golf, Footgolf & Toptracer

If you’re after an activity that gets everyone smiling, our Disc Golf courses are a brilliant choice — easy to learn, fun for all ages, and great in the fresh air.

We also have Footgolf and our Toptracer driving range (all undercover, so perfect whatever the weather). Free club hire for kids, festive challenges, and fun competitions make it great for groups big or small.

6. Celebrate All Season Long

We’re open throughout Christmas week — including Christmas Eve and Boxing Day (closed only on Christmas Day).

Whether it’s a festive brunch, a swing on the range, or a family outing, we’ll be here to welcome you.

Check our opening hours and plan a visit whenever suits you.
