Wiltshire mum launches first pregnancy supplement designed specifically for women with pregnancy sickness

A Wiltshire entrepreneur has launched a unique pregnancy supplement after her co-founder’s experience of severe Pregnancy Sickness highlighted a gap in support for women navigating the condition.

Laura Moore, from Malmesbury, founded Replenish after witnessing co-founder Laura Milward’s experience of Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG), a severe form of Pregnancy Sickness that can leave women unable to keep food or fluids down and often requires medical treatment.

During her illness, Milward discovered that many products assumed ideal conditions. Large vitamin tablets triggered gagging and vomiting, electrolyte products often required drinking large volumes of liquid, and strong flavours worsened her nausea and smell aversions.

Unlike traditional pregnancy supplements, Replenish is a concentrated liquid that can be consumed straight from the sachet. Each sachet contains electrolytes, glucose, vitamin C and B vitamins, including bioactive folic acid.

According to the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, up to 90% of women experience nausea and/or vomiting during pregnancy, yet the founders believe Pregnancy Sickness remains widely misunderstood and often underestimated.

Laura Moore said: “The more women we spoke to, the more we realised how many were quietly struggling through Pregnancy Sickness without feeling fully understood.

“Again and again, we heard the same frustrations. Women told us they struggled with large tablets, strong flavours and products that simply weren’t designed around the realities of pregnancy sickness.

“We wanted to create something informed by those experiences and developed with those challenges in mind from the very beginning.”

Throughout development, the founders worked alongside an advisory group spanning medicine, midwifery and nutrition and sought feedback from women affected by pregnancy sickness.

For Laura Milward, the project has always been deeply personal: “Having experienced Hyperemesis Gravidarum myself, I know how isolating and debilitating pregnancy sickness can be,” she said.

“It affects every part of your life, yet many women still feel there are very few products designed with their symptoms in mind.

“We created Replenish because we believed women need a supplement that is designed around the realities of their Pregnancy Sickness.”

As part of its commitment to supporting women affected by pregnancy sickness, Replenish has partnered with Pregnancy Sickness Support and will donate £1 from every box sold to support the charity’s work.

The founders hope the business will not only help women access products better suited to their needs, but also encourage greater awareness and understanding of a condition that affects thousands of women every year.
