Bratton Silver Band will be bringing the much-loved Aardman classic Wallace & Gromit: A Grand Day Out to the big screen, accompanied by a live performance of the film’s soundtrack.
Rather than simply watching the film, audiences will see the musicians of Bratton Silver Band perform the complete score live, synchronised with the action on screen as Wallace and Gromit build their homemade rocket and set off on their memorable trip to the Moon.
The special performance forms part of the Wallace & Gromit: A Grand Day Out – Community Brass Edition, which gives community brass bands the opportunity to introduce the award-winning animation to audiences in an entirely new way.
The event will take place at The Corn Exchange, Devizes, on Sunday 4th October with two showings, 11:00am and 2:00pm and is being presented as a family-friendly event suitable for Wallace & Gromit fans young and old.
Bratton Silver Band is part of Bratton Community Brass Bands, a Wiltshire charity providing opportunities for musicians of all ages and abilities. The organisation runs three bands – Bratton Silver Band, Bratton Brass Band and its youth beginners’ group, Bratton Brass Roots.
Bratton Community Brass Bands has enjoyed considerable success in recent years, including being named Westbury Community Group of the Year, while Bratton Brass Roots won Classic FM’s Best Music Learning Initiative, an award presented at Classic FM Live at the Royal Albert Hall.

“We’re incredibly excited to bring Wallace & Gromit to Devizes. Most people will have seen A Grand Day Out, but experiencing it with the music being performed by a brass band right in front of you is something completely different.
“We particularly wanted this to be an event families could enjoy together. For some younger members of the audience it may even be their first experience of hearing a brass band live – and we can’t think of a better introduction than Wallace & Gromit!”
Wallace & Gromit: A Grand Day Out – Community Brass Edition takes place at The Corn Exchange, Devizes, on Sunday 4th October with two showings, 11:00am and 2:00pm .
