Volunteers needed for community magazine: make a difference in your community

Lechlade’s community magazine, The Bridge is looking for new committee members to run this invaluable local publication when some committee members step down.

The magazine publishes articles from local clubs, societies and groups together with news about local businesses, events and initiatives.

Published bi-monthly and produced entirely by volunteers, The Bridge has a free online, colour edition and a professionally printed black-and-white edition sold in local outlets and through local organisations.

The current committee is very proud of its achievements: introducing a free online edition during the pandemic and maintaining it post-pandemic, switching from in-house to professional printing for the paper edition and widening the magazine’s range of content and contributors.

Would you like to make a vital contribution to your community by sharing local information and supporting activities and events that make Lechlade such a vibrant place?

Roles needed:

  • Editor – responsible for content and management.
  • Design and layout – responsible for laying out articles and advertisements and delivering the print edition to the printers.
  • Online edition management.
  • Distribution management – responsible for delivering and replenishing the print edition for local outlets.

Without new committee members, the magazine will close at the end of 2025.
