Tutus and Tiaras for Wrag Barn’s Lady Captain’s Day

You’d be forgiven for thinking that a modern ballet was being staged at Wrag Barn during Lady Captain’s Day.

Our wonderful Lady Captain, Margo Campbell chose tutus and tiaras for her theme and added a few twists to the 18 hole competition.
On the 2nd we drove off the white tees, on the 8th if you were right-handed a left-handed club had to be used and on the 11th a hockey stick was the weapon of choice. Throw in the mix a few nearest the pin options and a couple of straightest drives and we were all wondering what was going to happen next!

After golf, everyone changed into summer dresses and tiaras and the regal setting enjoyed a delicious lunch and the prize giving began:

1st Cathy Stanford, Karen White and Claire Drew 82 points
2nd Alison Talbert, Jac Brownsell and Marge Powell 74 points
3rd Di Reeve, Verity Manners and Gwen Webster 72 points on C/B

NP Hole 3 Sue Dodd
NP Hole 16 Claire Drew
Nearest the line hole 4 Hope Jack
Nearest the line hole 14 Claire Drew

For anyone who went in the water on the 5th or the 18th, a replacement ball was given to use next time.
A little bird disclosed that the Greenkeeper’s equipment took a battering from someone’s ball (no harm done) and Tracey Judd was given a special prize of less wayward balls to try.

We said farewell and thank you to our Lady President of many years Sue Manners and welcomed Jenny Stenhouse to the role in recognition of her years of support for the club and we know her wisdom will be welcome in the years to come.

Lastly, a game of Heads and Tails caused more hilarity and everyone went home happy.

Margo wants us to know that she loves being Lady Captain and we want her to know that we think she’s awesome.
