Swindon schools thank Vygon UK for vital donations

Swindon Academy, Crowdys Hill School and Red Oaks Primary welcome stationery supplies Medical device manufacturer Vygon UK has donated much-needed resources to three Swindon schools, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to supporting the local community.

To help Swindon Academy’s seasonal nature-changing project, the company gifted 100 boxes that pupils transformed into sensory containers during outdoor learning sessions.

Bethan Pooler, Teacher at Swindon Academy on Beech Road, said: “The pupils ventured into the school’s woodland and ‘Forest School’ area to observe seasonal changes and investigate the natural world around them. They discovered fallen apples, colourful leaves and different tree textures, sparking conversations about wildlife and the changing seasons.

“They were enthusiastic and engaged, showing great observation skills and a love of learning beyond the classroom walls. They were able to use the boxes, donated by Vygon UK, to collect their findings and discuss them back in the classroom.”

Vygon also contributed 240 ring binders to a wider stationery drive led by recruitment agency Pertemps, bringing together regional organisations to support Crowdys Hill School and Red Oaks Primary School. Crowdys Hill is a specialist SEN school and Red Oaks hosts a dedicated SEND unit.

Aleksandra Piwinska, a Red Oaks parent and Recruitment Consultant at Pertemps organised the collection. She said: “We are very grateful to Vygon UK for their kind donations which have made two schools very happy.

“Office staff at Red Oaks and Crowdys Hill were appreciative for the binders, which will help them to organise resources, save money and support their nursery, afterschool and SEND units.”

Based at the Pierre Simonet Building in Gateway North, Vygon UK regularly sponsors and supports community initiatives and clubs across Wiltshire.

Katie Kingston, Head of Marketing and Communications at Vygon UK, said: “We’re committed to making a meaningful contribution to the area we’re proud to call home. Seeing the positive impact of these donations on local schools has been truly rewarding, and we look forward to supporting more charities and community projects in future.”
