Swindon Financial Advisor Shortlisted for Business Awards

Swindon businessman and founder of Dave Southby Financial Planning, Dave Southby, has been shortlisted for two regional business awards. These awards recognise both his impressive business success since launching in 2021 and his commitment to supporting the local community.

Dave Southby, 31, from Wroughton, has built a highly successful financial planning business and has quickly become a valued member of the local community. His business Dave Southby Financial Planning is a finalist in two categories at the TBE Awards 2024 – the Going the Extra Mile Award and the Positive Business Award.

These categories acknowledge his dedication to going above and beyond for his clients, as well as his positive contributions to the community.

Dave shared his excitement and said “‘’We are incredibly proud to be nominated for not one but two region awards recognising our commitment to the community and going the extra mile for our clients.

“These are two of our core values so to be nominated in both categories shows the hard work we have done to put these are the centre of what we do.’’

The TBE Awards, held in partnership with headline sponsor Thrings, celebrate innovation and entrepreneurship across Bath & Somerset and Swindon & Wiltshire. This year’s awards received over 130 entries across 14 categories.

In September, Dave and his colleague Neil took on the challenge of the Thames Path 100km walk, raising £2,800 – surpassing their £2,500 target – for the Kelly Foundation, their chosen charity for 2024, which supports mental health initiatives in the local community.

Dave’s firm is up against strong competition in the Going the Extra Mile Award, alongside Genesis Trust and Voices Charity, as well as in the Positive Business Award, which includes Digital Wonderlab, Gel Studios, and Gooding Accounts.

The TBE Awards are making their debut this year, marking the inaugural celebration of excellence within the region’s business community. Designed to build upon the legacy of the highly successful Techies awards, which ran for six years, the TBE Awards promise to deliver the same level of excitement and recognition. This new initiative aims to shine a spotlight on outstanding achievements and innovation in the vibrant business landscape.

Winners will be announced at a celebration event on Thursday 17th October at Cumberwell Park, Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire, BA15 2PQ.
