Priority IT acquires telecommunications company, Pumpkin Communications

Wiltshire IT Firm expands ahead of BTs Big Switch Off

Wiltshire-based IT firm, Priority IT, is celebrating growth and expanding its services with the acquisition of telecommunications company, Pumpkin Communications.

Strengthening the IT support service already on offer, the acquisition means that Priority IT is now able to provide telephone systems, networking and structured cabling to local businesses.

David Blackman, founder of Pumpkin Communications, has more than 40 years of experience in the telecommunications industry and will join the team in Westbury as their Head of Data Communications.

David said: “I’m excited about the coming months; helping our existing, and new, customers all in one place! I joined the Priority IT team at a fundamental time too.
In 2025 BT is turning off its old analogue and ISDN phone service, meaning all phone lines will be run over the internet.”

Because many businesses are still using phone systems which rely on the ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) or PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network), Priority IT is offering to visit business premises, free of charge, to check current systems and provide advice if anything needs updating before 2025.

Kieran Thomas, Director at Priority IT, added: “Lots of businesses will need help through the transition period and not many are aware of the implications or what they need to do. Both of our companies have a strong track record of providing customers with an exceptional level of service, and together we’ll be upgrading the technology of our customers to enable them to grow faster more securely.”

Any business wishing to make use of this free system check, please contact David Blackman, Priority IT, on 01225 636000.
