Padel People arrives in Corsham

Corsham is set to become the latest town to embrace one of the world’s fastest growing sports, as Padel People opens a brand new facility bringing padel to the heart of Wiltshire.

The dynamic racket sport, which combines elements of tennis and squash, has taken Europe by storm and is now rapidly gaining popularity across the UK. Already the second most popular sport in Spain, padel is winning fans for its social nature and accessibility to players of all ages and abilities.

Padel People are hoping to have courts open as early as December.

Bringing Padel to Wiltshire

The new Corsham facility features six indoor courts with professional grade surfaces and lighting, making it accessible year round regardless of the British weather. The venue will serve residents across Wiltshire, including nearby Chippenham, Bath, and Trowbridge – areas that have previously had limited access to padel courts.

Padel People, founded by George Sandbach and James Rock, has made it their mission to make the sport accessible and affordable. As an owner operated business, they’ve focused on keeping prices reasonable whilst building welcoming communities around their venues.

“We’re passionate about bringing padel to everyone,” explains James Rock. “Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced player, we want to create spaces where people can have fun, stay active, and connect with others. We will be hosting free introduction to padel sessions and will be setting up WhatsApp communities to connect with other people and find players to join you on court”

Equipment and Accessibility

For those new to the sport, the facility offers racket and ball hire, meaning visitors can simply turn up and give it a go without any upfront investment. Booking is straightforward through the Padel People app, with flexible time slots to suit busy schedules.

The sport is particularly appealing to families and social groups, as it’s played in doubles format and the smaller court size means less running than tennis – perfect for mixed ability groups wanting to play together.

Getting Involved

The Corsham will be open for bookings via the Playtomic App, with sessions available for individuals, groups, and corporate bookings. Beginners are encouraged to book a court and give it a try, with coaching sessions also available for those wanting to develop their skills.
