McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Swindon opens new Play Area – a venture backed by £450k investment

McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Swindon is pleased to announce the opening of its new Play Area, which took place last week.

Representing a £450,000 investment, this impressive 6,000 sqft play space is designed to spark the imaginations of children aged 2-12, with a capacity for 50 children at a time. The thoughtfully designed area features train-themed elements that pay homage to Swindon’s rich railway heritage, alongside engaging sensory and educational activities, including sound tubes and puzzles.

Located in the same space as before the new opening will offer an incredible and playful setting free for everyone to enjoy. Featuring multiple trains to climb and play with, sound tubes, sensory floor with bright colours, educational puzzles and more, all on one accessible level.

The ribbon cutting ceremony took place on Monday 17th, and was attended by the winning class from a special “Design Your Own Play Area” competition held with Even Swindon Art School, involving Year 2, 3, and 4 students. These young designers were the ones to cut the ribbon, and were able to witness their ideas come to life and participate in the official opening.
