Growing Places Infrastructure Fund – Open Call for Proposals

The Swindon and Wiltshire Business Growth Unit at Wiltshire Council is pleased to announce the launch of a new funding call under the Growing Places Infrastructure Fund (GPIF) programme – a capital-only loan fund designed to unlock sustainable economic growth across the region.

The GPIF provides loan investments to businesses based and operating in Swindon and Wiltshire to support the capital elements of projects that are currently unable to proceed due to infrastructure or commercial constraints. Loan values under this call can range from £150,000 to approximately £1 million, with repayment expected usually within five years.

This funding opportunity is aimed at projects that:

  • Deliver measurable and sustainable economic growth within Swindon and Wiltshire;
  • Align with the strategic objectives outlined in the GPIF Prospectus;
  • Demonstrate readiness to proceed at pace;
  • Offer strong repayment certainty; and
  • Represent good value for money.

Applicants must be able to provide:

  • Three years of financial accounts;
  • A business plan for the proposed investment;
  • A detailed cashflow forecast;
  • Information on security offered and any other lending arrangements.

Please note: GPIF does not invest in pre-revenue companies or projects. Security against the loan is a mandatory requirement.

The application process begins with an Expression of Interest form, which allows businesses to outline their proposal. Eligible applicants will be invited to submit a full application and will be subject to due diligence, credit and fraud checks.

To access the Prospectus and Expression of Interest form, and for further details, please visit the GPIF programme page [Growing Places Infrastructure Fund | SWLEP] or contact the team directly via GPIF@wiltshire.gov.uk.

We encourage businesses with viable, capital-ready projects to apply and take advantage of this opportunity to help drive forward economic growth in our region.
