Popular TV antiques expert Paul Martin will be sharing his knowledge and experience with residents of Market Lavington on 30th April by hosting a free community valuation day at Retro Relics Game Café in Market Lavington.
The valuation day, which is being run in partnership with world-renowned Devizes auctioneers Henry Aldridge & Son, for which Paul is Head of Valuations, will take place between 10:30am to 3pm and is intended to encourage members of the public to bring along items they’ve always been curious about for discussion, valuation, and possibly sale.
Paul would be delighted to see items ranging from antiques, collectables, silver, gold, militaria, and jewellery.
The event is part of a series of valuation days run by Paul in his role with Henry Aldridge & Son, and Paul says he is eager to uncover the fascinating treasures that the people of Market Lavington will bring along.
Paul commented, “Market Lavington is such a lovely market town with an expansive history, and I’m always excited by the items that turn up at valuation days. These events are not just about valuations – they’re about sharing stories and connecting with the community.”
Market Lavington is a market town south of Devizes with roots stretching back to the 13th century when it was gifted the Royal Charter to allow for weekly markets. Since then, its rich cultural history has led it to be a gem in the heart of Wiltshire as being a hub of activity and community gathering.
Denise Rowell of Retro Relics Games Cafe said “We are thrilled and excited to welcome Paul Martin to Retro Relics Games Café. It’s going to be an amazing day!”
The valuation day gives locals the opportunity to have their items appraised by an expert and gain insights into both their historical and monetary value.
“Whether it’s a family heirloom, a curious find from a flea market, or an antique that’s been gathering dust, I’m excited to hear the stories behind each piece,” said Paul.
“While I enjoy my TV work, my true passion has always been antiques. These events let me connect with people, share in their history, and uncover the stories that make these items special.”
Paul, best known for presenting the BBC show Flog It!, is also a familiar face on Antiques Road Trip and Britain’s Hidden Heritage, and also hosts Paul Martin’s Auction Showdown on My5.
