Flog It! Presenter Paul Martin to Host Three Valuation Days in West Wiltshire

Latest news from TV presenter and antiques’ expert Paul Martin

Well known popular TV antique expert, Paul Martin, will be sharing his knowledge and experience with residents in Melksham, Westbury and Warminster when he hosts three valuation days later this month.

The events, which are being run in partnership with world renowned Devizes auctioneers Henry Aldridge & Son, for which Paul is Head of Valuations, will take place between 10.30am and 3pm and are intended to encourage members of the public to dust off those forgotten or surplus items, find out more about them from an expert and they can then be sold, if that’s appropriate.

In the last year Paul has been doing a road trip of valuations across the South West which has included seeing items from antiques, collectables, silver, gold, militaria, jewellery and even a meteorite!

“These valuation days are going to be wonderful, you simply never know what treasures guests will bring,” said Paul. “It could be something with a local story, a very personal story or something of wider historical significance or something which speaks to our social history. I love meeting new people and hearing their stories and sharing some knowledge around items they may have inherited, bought years ago or even found. Literally I’ve had people bring in items which they have dug up from their own gardens. It’s endlessly fascinating!”

Paul has been a tv presenter and expert for over 25 years on programmes including the Antiques’ Road Trip; Flog It!; CountryFile and many more. His latest series Paul Martin’s Auction Showdown has been aired this year on Channel 5.

Anyone can bring portable items (or take photographs or video of larger items) to the valuation days free of charge to these venues:

· Wednesday November 13 – The Horse & Groom, Alfred Street, Westbury.

· Monday November 18 – The Bell, Amesbury.

· Wednesday November 20 – Athenaeum Centre, Warminster.

· Wednesday November 27 – That Meeting Space, Market Place, Melksham.
