Escape the Village Celebrates One Year of Empowering Rural and Local Businesses

Escape the Village, an award-winning marketing consultancy dedicated to supporting small to medium-sized rural and local businesses proudly celebrated its one-year anniversary recently. Founded by Liz Graney and now joined by her daughter Izzy Graney, the company has rapidly become a trusted partner in the countryside, equine and agricultural sectors, offering a range of services including marketing audits, website development, SEO, social media management, and marketing training.

Over the past year, Escape the Village has achieved significant milestones, with business awards in marketing, family business and disabled entrepreneurship. From being made redundant in 2023 and struggling with serious health challenges to embracing the new business, Liz brings over 30 years of marketing experience to the business. The company’s commitment to community engagement and personalised customer relationships has recently been recognised with the UK Armed Forces Covenant Bronze Award. As a veteran herself this is something she is particularly proud of within their first year.

“We are thrilled to mark our first anniversary and reflect on the positive impact we’ve made in the local, rural business community,” said Liz Graney. “Our success reflects our commitment to understanding the unique challenges faced by rural businesses and providing them with effective marketing strategies.”

The team is also actively sponsoring and providing support for disabled entrepreneurs, small charities and the local Dauntsey Festival of Transport & Country Show. Being able to give back to their local community and roots is at the core of what they do, and showcasing our local businesses has enabled them to stand out against some much bigger and more established marketing consultancies.

Escape the Village has also launched an online learning platform, called the Marketing Mentoring Club, offering courses and resources to further support client acquisition and retention for small businesses. They have also decided to offer this completely free to small registered charities. With a strong referral network and collaborations with local schools, military organisations, and other local community organisations, the company continues to build awareness and foster community support.

As Escape the Village looks to the future, the company continues to remain committed to delivering innovative marketing solutions that empower rural businesses to reach their full potential.
