At the beginning of December, intrepid members of Business Connect braved the freezing cold waters of Bowmoor Sailing Club lake to raise money for Combat Stress for veterans’ mental health problems.
The Santa Splash fundraising event was organised by the Lechlade Lions and, with water temperatures being around 6oC, the stalwart swimmers were grateful that the clubhouse was open afterwards for them to have a hot shower and a drink from the bar.
It was also an opportunity to socialise with local businesses and community groups, charities and sports clubs to find out what each one does and how they can benefit each other to make a difference in their communities.
The next meeting of Business Connect will be on Wednesday January 21 between 5pm-7pm in Fairford Cricket Pavilion, GL7 4JJ. Turn up any time – no booking needed – and come along and meet other like-minded community supporters from Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire.
Future Business Connect meetings will take place on the third Wednesday of every month at the same time and same venue, unless notified otherwise.
